Make It A Cake By Carousel

by Melody Kettle

Cupcakes by Carousel recently brought their brand of fun and delicious cupcakes to Montclair with a new, colorful sweet shop at 25 Church Street.

But, Carousel is more than just cupcakes.  Carousel Cakes, the parent company of Cupcakes by Carousel, is a successful veteran of the baking business, and has been making and selling cakes wholesale  for over thirty years. The expert baking company offers fresh and inventive Custom Decorated Cakes, perfect for birthday parties, holidays and events.

In addition to many creative cake designs from which to choose, Carousel can create a completely new design born of your ideas and tailored to your tastes!  Imitate the design of your child’s favorite character, or translate your celebration inspiration into festive, edible form.

The possibilities are endless!  Choose from classic cake flavors, or spice things us with a savory carrot cake.  How about Oprah’s favorite Red Velvet cake?  Then, customize your cake further with traditional fruit fillings, butter cream, chocolate mousse, and cream cheese.  Or try inventive and delicious fillings like blackout pudding, mocha butter cream, whipped cream, cannoli cream, chocolate whipped cream, peanut butter cream, strawberry butter cream, or oreo butter cream.  Carousel will make it delicious from the first impression to the last bite!

In addition to the Montclair shop, Cupcakes by Carousel also operates a shop in Ridgewood and Englewood, NJ.  Visit the Cupcakes by Carousel website for the detailed price list.  To see all of the Carousel delicious cakes, visit the Carousel bakery website.

Montclair The Show

by Melody Kettle

Things have been very busy at Hot From The Kettle! We've been hard at "work" participating in the filming Montclair The Show, the first travel docu-movie about our fine, diverse town.

The Show is being shot and directed ny the incredibly talented Montclair resident, Mido Emad, and will reveal the very best of Montclair through a diverse mix of art, restaurants, and overall lifestyle.

Over the past few weeks we've shot at CulinAriane, Mesob, Halcyon, Ah'Pizz, Aozora, Corso 98, and more.

Last night, we shot at Samba Montclair. Owner, Ilson Goncalves brought along some Brazilian friends with feathers. Check 'em out!

Jason Perlow, of Off The Broiler, and Eric Levin of NJ Monthly were there to take in the sights and to eat some delicious homestyle Brazilian food at Samba. Stay tuned to Hot From The Kettle more information about The Show!

Visit the gallery for pics behind the scenes.

For skeptics, bear with me; bourbon can be surprisingly palatable when paired with the right accompaniments. Pick your favorite and drink like a racehorse while cheering on your favorite, oversized derby hat optional.
