Well over 350 wine and food lovers attended A Tasteful Experience last night at the Pleasantdale Chateau.
The event, which benefits the Clara Maass Medical Center Foundation featured inventive tastings from our area’s best restaurants, like CulinAriane, Fascino, Bar Cara, Giotto, The Orange Squirrel, Blu, Toast, Mesob, and many others.
There was plenty of wine as well! For the seventh year in a row, Sharon Sevrens, proprietor of Amanti Vino, coordinated eighty wines that were enjoyed over the course of the evening.

The show featured moms who love to bake, so I fit right in.
Emeril shared his shortcuts for making show-stopping desserts, like a delicious White Chocolate Pots De Cr me, a classic, easy Sweet Peach Upside Down Cake, and my favorite, Poached Pear dessert with Port Wine Syrup topped with crumbled blue cheese. The episode of Emeril s Table will air on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 11 am on the Hallmark Channel.

Acappello Ristorante, the new kid on the Avenue, will host its Grand Opening on Thursday, November 10, from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Acappello is owned by the same family who has operated Cara Mia (Millburn), La Campagna (Morristown) and La Catena (Bridgewater). Needless to say – they have plenty of restaurant experience. General manager, Ben Husenaj, and his two brothers, Sal and Robert, along with their two cousins, Naz Husenaj and Dardan Mati, have used their vision and experience to work an aesthetic wonder in the space formerly occupied by Sesame.
Our local Top Chef, Ariane Duarte, will be teaming up with Chef Amanda Freitag from Food Networks’s CHOPPED, and Carla Hall from ABC’s The Chew, for an evening of food, wine, friends, and charity.
Louie’s Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting childhood obesity, is introducing a new athletic mentoring initiative, Run Buddies, to the NJ/NY area. Founder of Louie’s Kids, Louis Yuhasz, explains, “We are the folks who find the fix that fits for any kid who needs us.”
