Local Star Chefs Will To Support the Second Annual “Montclair Fall Food Classic” to Benefit The Salvation Army November 15, 2013
For the second year running, local chefs will be coming together to benefit The Salvation Army hot lunch program at the Citadel in Montclair.
A seasonal lunch will be served with a menu devised by some of the areas finest restaurants and chefs—the Orange Squirrel, Uncle Moustache, SO Tasty Vegan and Osteria Giotto. Ingredients have once again been donated generously by Kings Food Markets as part of their Act Against Hunger initiative.
Admission will be by ticket only and are available in advance from The Salvation Army, 13 Trinity Place, Montclair NJ 07042 – contact Michele Kroeze telephone (973) 744-3312 ext. 4651 or email michele.kroeze@use.salvationarmy.org
The suggested minimum is $25.
The event is the brainchild of two Montclair Salvation Army volunteers: Caroline Clarke and Lisa Davies (of thislittlepiggywenttothefarmersmarket.com) who, with Thanksgiving just around the corner, decided it would be a good way to raise funds to replenish the food supplies that feed Montclair's hungry every week.
Said Lisa: “A lot of people are not aware of the good The Salvation Army does in our community feeding people in need. No one is turned away and in these tougher times the number of people needing a good meal is growing. Thanks to the strong food community of these restaurants and the very generous food donation by Kings we are able to hold the same fundraiser lunch as last year.”
Chefs Robert Pantusa (Osteria Giotto), Uncle Moustache and Francesco Palmieri (Orange Squirrel) were both “delighted” to be involved again and contribute their gorgeous seasonal fare.
