Dining Out On Thanksgiving

If you’re thinking about letting someone else do the work this Thanksgiving, here are a few options that are sure to please your palate. 

For those seeking more traditional holiday fare, The Manor Restaurant is offering an a la carte dining menu, created by Chef Mitchell Altholz, featuring four-courses, including an appetizer, salad, main course, dessert and coffee/tea. Stand outs from the menu include an appetizer of Truffled Lobster Macaroni and Cheese made with Home Made Cavatelli Pasta and Pecorino Romano, and an entrée of Roasted Vermont Turkey with Traditional Turkey Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Maple-Glazed Yams, Green Beans, Cranberry-Stuffed Baked Lady Apple, Turkey Gravy, and desserts like Frozen Pumpkin Parfait with Layered Gingerbread, Pumpkin & Creme Fraîche and Cranberry-Lime Compote.

Seating times are from 12:30pm until 6:30pm.  The cost is $62.95 per person plus tax and gratuity. A children's menu is available upon request for those age 4-12 at $24.95 per child.

Highlawn Pavilion is also offering a Thanksgiving menu, created by Chef Mitchell Altholz, including a first course, salad course, main course, the Highlawn Dessert Sampler, and coffee/tea. Delicious selections from the menu include Country Pate with Fig Jam and Grain Mustard, Slowly Braised Lamb Shank with Saffron Risotto, Wild Mushrooms and Rosemary Jus.

If you’re seeking a non-traditional Turkey Day, Brick Lane Curry House in Montclair is offering a special Thanksgiving menu as well.  The menu will include, appetizers of Aloo & yam tikki ($8), Trio of turkey tikka (Mailai, Hariyali, Classic) ($12), Turkey mughlai ($20), Malabar sea bass ($19), Paneer shahi korma ($16), Bombay yams ($14).  Brick Lane’s got the dessert detail covered as well, with Pumpkin halwa ($5), and Mango sorbet ($6).
