Hooch! Homemade Irish Cream

by Melody Kettle

Hooch is one of Grandma's holiday concoctions I've been sipping since I was at the "kids table."

Why do we call it "Hooch"?  I'm not exactly sure?  It more closely resembles what most recipe books refer to as "Irish Cream Liqueur."

Beware, this recipe is not for those looking to drop a few pounds, or for the lactose intolerant. Otherwise, enjoy.

Here's the recipe, verbatim from Grandma's index card:

1 3/4 Cups Whiskey

1 Cup Condensed Milk (recipe for homemade condensed milk)

1 Cup Heavy Cream

4 Eggs

2 Tbsp. Hershey's Chocolate Syrup

2 tsp. Instant Coffee

1 tsp. Vanilla extract

1/2 tsp Almond extract

Combine all ingredients in an electric blender - process until smooth.  Store tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.  Make sure to shake before serving.
