ABOUT VILLALOBOS and Chef/Owner Adam Rose:
The new venture of longtime Nutley residents (and childhood friends) Adam Rose and VJ Moscaritola (owner, Gumdrop Hairdressing in downtown Montclair). Menus will feature traditional Mexican ingredients & recipes influenced by Adam's experience and personal cooking style. In his words, "dishes pulled from the heart of Mexico, especially from Oaxaca and Puebla - the birthplaces of corn, masa and tamales." Though BYO, guests may order from an exciting drink menu offering agua frescas, micheladas, Mexican sodas and slushies.
Until very recently, Adam Rose was Executive Chef at NICO Kitchen & Bar @ NJPAC. Prior to, he was instrumental in the launch and day-to-day operation of Restaurant Passioné (Montclair) and Bin 14 Trattoria & Wine Bar (Hoboken).
The 1,800 square-foot Villalobos space will feature an open kitchen, bar seating and dining area. Interior design utilizes a restorative approach, incorporating raw materials such as reclaimed wood.
